![]() ![]() What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?īroken Social Scene, You Forgot It In People Finally I remember getting my first turntables at 12 and DJing everyday after school for years until I finally started singing again and writing songs. When I was 5 I joined by first kids choir at church but really I just wanted to play drums and DJ. A fascinating double feature to listen to back to back.Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Jesus Christ by Brand New and If I believe You by The 1975. Not a band, but really two dual songs that I always have felt are like a conversation with each other from different bands. Folk, punk, hardcore, and rock all different records. Has a bunch of different genres and really approaches religion and Christianity as one whole concept. If you’re into more theological discussion with the use of allegories, would highly highly suggest Mewithoutyou. Definitely more explicitly secular/progressive than most bands in their category. Relient K is a bit more of a goofy pop punk sound for their first half of their discography but in the second half you hear the maturity and real quarrels and questioning of their faith. Switchfoot’s Oh Gravity I think is the best album to get a great feel for how they blend Christian themes into their work. Growing up a pastors kid I’ve got some insight, as others have mentioned Switchfoot and Anberlin both have pretty harder rock sounds to them and are a bit more explicit in their lyrics. Way more explicitly Christian but the song "Jesus I have my doubts" has been a favorite of mine for it's nuance.įell free to ask more about these or add to the list or correct me if I'm wrong Jon foreman - lead singer for switchfoot who has put out some stellar solo stuff. Hello hurricane, vice verses, and nothing is sound are my favorite records they have put out. Switchfoot - some explicitly Christian songs and album, some that shy away from it almost entirely. Twenty one pilots - as others have mentioned ![]() I think when we were younger and leave what's lost behind are both excellent albums worth a listen, but I really like most everything they put out.Īnberlin - harder rock than half alive, cities or vital are my favorite albums of theirs. Mmhmm and air for free are also solid.Ĭolony house - 2 of the 4 members are sons of Steven Curtis Chapman (famous Christian artist from the 80s and 90s I believe). Forget and not slow down is my favorite album of theirs although it is a breakup album and as a result may not be your speed. Relient k - some songs more explicitly Christian than others, ranges from pop punk to more alt rock / pop. Mutemath - vitals is their best album in my eyes with used to being the standout track. Alive's New Single "still feel."Īrtists who are Christian but don't make "Christian" music (I think correct me if wrong):.Be nice to others and follow reddiquette. Don't make a post about it.Ħ.)
